The park is located in Bradford Township on County Road 10, three miles south of County Road 5 and four miles east of County Road 47. Wayside Prairie County Park encompasses 80 acres of land and was dedicated as a memorial forest and recreation area in 1957, making it the second oldest county park in the system. Under the direction of County Agent Royal Anderson and his County Home Agricultural Leader Elain Kumola, county 4-H clubs planted the land with spruce, red pine, & white pine. Besides planting the trees they cleared and developed a small picnic area. In 1993 the park was further developed with a parking area and picnic shelter. |
