You can vote while under guardianship unless a judge specifically has revoked your right to vote. You cannot vote if a court has ruled that you are legally incompetent (Additional Information).
Registering to vote for 16- and 17-year-olds:
You can pre-register to vote as a 16- or 17-year-old in Minnesota. You must be 18 years old before voting.
Go to the MNvotes.org website and follow the instructions to find your registration status. If you need to register, below are options for you.
Pre-registration
Voters are encouraged to register before Election Day. To pre-register, election officials must receive a voter’s application at least 20 days before Election Day.
Register at the polls
Go to the MNvotes.org website for registration requirements and a list of documents you can use as proof of residence on Election Day.
