To help Minnesotans minimize the risks and hazards of winter, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety — in collaboration with the National Weather Service and other state, federal and non-profit agencies — sponsors Winter Hazard Awareness Week each fall to educate, inform, remind and reinforce the behaviors and actions that lead to a warm, safe and enjoyable winter season.
The week-long educational campaign includes a media blitz and web-based information materials to assist citizens and communities in preparing for winter weather risks. Check back here every October for more information about this event or sign-up for our email notifications.
