Adoption

Isanti County Family Services provides adoption services to children whose parents' legal rights have been terminated through Minnesota Statute 260C.301. Persons seeking a private adoption are referred to private adoption agencies. Persons seeking a step-parent adoption are advised to seek legal council.

Post Adoption

Isanti County Family Services also provides post-adoption services as defined in Minnesota Statute 259.83 and as directed by the Commissioner of Human Services.

Adam Walsh Act

Minnesota Statute 245C requires adults wishing to adopt a child to provide a set of fingerprints. Isanti County Family Services facilitates this process for private adoptions when requested by a private child placing agency or by Isanti County Tenth Judicial District Court.
