Vegsund Family County Park is 80 acres in size. In the northeast corner of the park lies Lake 17, an excellent fishing lake. Prairie restoration and invasive plant control efforts have been implemented at the park.

Future plans involve a roadway to a picnic shelter and playfield, along with a canoe access and fishing pier.
Trail development has started and will consist of a self guided interpretive trail throughout the park.
