The
park is located in Springvale Township 3½ miles
northwest of Cambridge along the Rum River. Follow
State Highway 95 west and turn north
on County Road 14, turn left onto 339th
and follow to the end of
Holly Street.
Becklin Homestead Park Wildlife Management Area covers 190 acres jointly owned between the
Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources and Isanti
County. This is the only park in the state with county and
state ownership. It is also one of only three parks that
hold a hunting season for disabled hunters.
Natural features of the park include the wild and
scenic Rum River, 150 year old white pines, and prairie
restoration sites.
Future plans for the Becklin Homestead Park/Wildlife Management Area include a roadway
and parking lot,
along
with river access for small boats and
canoes. Other amenities will include a log picnic
shelter,
wildlife viewing platform, and
approximately four miles in trails.
