The arrival of the railroad to Isanti County in 1899 would bring major change to the poor area.
Modern Isanti County continues to grow, with a 25% population increase in the last 10 years to a current estimated population of almost 40,000 people.
The region we know today as Isanti County was originally settled by lumberjacks from New England, migrating westward with their families in search of fresh trees to harvest.
