Intake Probation Officer (Full-Time) – Probation Department
Isanti County Probation Department is accepting applications for a full-time Intake Probation Officer. This position will provide scheduled intakes on offenders refereed from court, transfer cases to other county and state jurisdictions, complete bail studies at the jail, complete presentence investigations and set up monitoring services to offenders.  The purpose of this position is to conduct risk and needs assessments at time of intake when offenders are first referred from court and provide some supervision and programming to adult offenders.  This position may include teaching cognitive skills classes so any experience with cognitive skills instruction should be included on resume.  Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Sociology AND have completed a full-time internship (10 weeks or 400 hours) as a Probation Officer OR a minimum of 400 hours of volunteer Probation Officer experience.  Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.  Preferred experience in EBP practices like the LSCMI, AUDIT, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive skills work.  This position may require the officer to do evening and limited weekend work.  Salary starts at $39,672/year plus benefits.  Application, cover letter, and resume required.  EEO/AA

Isanti County has a position opening for a grant-funded part-time Director, Children’s Advocacy Center, for Isanti County.  Preferred qualifications:  BA/BS in Human Services, Business, Non-Profit Management or relevant field.  $20.00 per hour.  Resume required.  EOE, AA

Vacancies in the Family Services Department are Filled Using the Minnesota Merit System.

The Merit System consists of examinations which may include one or more of the following: written examination, oral examination, and/or rating of experience/education. The names of applicants who successfully completed all required examinations are listed as eligible applicants in order of the score and geographic area. When a vacancy exists with Isanti County, the supervisor will request a list of eligible applicants from the Merit System and conduct personal interviews. 

A separate examination is required for each Merit System Classification.  Classifications in Isanti County currently include the following: Office Support Specialist, Accounting Technician, Support Enforcement Aide, Case Aide, Eligibility Worker, Child Support Officer, Collections Officer, Financial Assistance Specialist, Support & Collections Specialist, Welfare Fraud Investigator, Office Services Supervisor, Social Worker, Fiscal Supervisor I, Collection Services Supervisor I, Financial assistance Supervisor I, and Social Services Supervisor.  Some classifications remain closed for examination until a vacancy occurs in a county.  For classification education and experience requirements, or to apply for an examination, please visit the Minnesota Merit System Website.
