Hunting and Fishing Licenses and Stamps

Minnesota Statute 97A requires that any person, unless exempt, must purchase a license to hunt and fish in Minnesota .  Hunting and fishing certain species or in certain areas may also require the purchase of a stamp.

How To Obtain

Hunting and fishing licenses and stamps can be purchased, in person, at the Isanti County Auditor office.

Most hunting and fishing licenses and stamps go on sale in mid-February.

Small game and fishing licenses are valid from March 1 through February 28 the following year.

Big game licenses go on sale in mid-August. The firearms deer season begins in early November.

Duplicate licenses must be purchased from a special agent. Go to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Web site for a list of special agents and locations.

Required Identification

To purchase a resident license, you must provide proof of Minnesota residency (a Minnesota driver's license or identification card) or a Firearm Safety Certificate.

Non-residents must provide a driver's license or state identification card from their state of residence.

The Isanti County Auditor office can only accept payment by cash or check.
